I downloaded the only chipset driver I could find from gigabyte 990fxa-ud5 and extracted it to downloads. I'm not sure how to get it to install. I'm used to going to nividia and picking the right driver and installing it from nvidia. I decided to try amd and I can't find 9 series chipset drivers anywhere, so I ran auto detect and it shows that it can't identify the chipset. The 990 can't be that new, or I wouldn't think there wouldn't be the 9 series listed in the drop-down box. I installed the chipset driver from the cd to get internet access and it's a realtek lan controller. What am I missing or doing wrong? I thought they would have the driver available on amd I've never used the motherboard downloads except for bios. Thanks again. I noticed that too. Amd from what I can tell refers you to the mobo website. Gigabyte has the 8.71 driver so I'm pretty sure it's an 8 series driver. I saved the file and extracted it and still can't get it to install even by run as admin. In my device driver it's realtek network adapter family something from the motherboard cd. It said chipset driver and it allowed me to connect to the internet. I'm not sure but I don't think my chipset is showing up in device manager. I can't get the driver to install. I miss nvidia too bad they don't make chipsets now. Simple to go to nividia and download and nice to leave firewalls out of the install too. They're tech isn't very pro either lmao. I need a practically needed a translator to understand their website even in english. Peace always. I'm not sure what's going on with my build. I'm going to wipe, reinstall reset cmos jumper before this install. I can only think something is corrupted, or I screwed up my windows 7 install. I had boot priority set to cd and when it restarted it went back to the first black screen that says loading files so I pulled the install cd out real fast and turned it on changed the boot priority to hard drive and the press any key came back up and I knew the very first screen was going to come up again. I powered down restarted and didnt touch anything windows finished expanding or whatever the last part is. I can't figure out why it didn't just restart and finish. I'm trying to get this stable before I install on a patriot pyro se I bought for this. I don't want to mess with a ssd reinstall although a guy told me windows would automatically realign the ssd. I've never had so many problems. I have yet to find anything amd, chipset etc in my device manager. I'm tired of searching, posting, trying this and that I'm going to figure out how to run the os install and then go from there. I considered a corrupt dmi pool and I ran into an article where this guy adds command line parameter along with his bios update to clear dmi, clear escd etc. I don't think resetting cmos and shorting the jumpers clears dmi and a corrupt dmi could be a big problem. Here's the article It's a shrewd option for bios updates. Here's the link it's interesting. I hope your bizarre issue is resolved and mine too. Peace always.. Hey dude, I hope you don't mind but I need a little experienced direction. Just received my first Asrock Fatality mobo, and wanted to know which bios, if any to install or upgrade to, the best settings to use for a moderate overclock to start with, and lastly How would I get my ssd (sata 3 60 gb) to be my boot drive only with trim so that my system knows not to put anything else on it except windows 7? Thank you for any advice or help as Ive watched countless you tube videos and read buchu articles without much luck.
